How do I know BotShield is connected?

The dashboard shows whether the theme embed is connected. Use Verify connection or Refresh status, then visit your published storefront. A real visit confirms the connection. A diagnostic check is not a live storefront event.

Confirm BotShield is installed, open the published theme, turn on the BotShield app embed, and save. Then refresh the connection status in the dashboard. No. BotShield is not a firewall in front of your entire store. It evaluates visits that run the theme app embed. A visit that never runs that embed may not be inspected.

A risk score summarizes the signals on that visit, such as the browser, the page, recent activity, and network details when they are available. BotShield groups the result as low, medium, or high. The score is an assessment, not proof that a visitor is automated.

Each evaluated visit is labeled low, medium, or high. A medium or high result can be challenged when Auto Block is on and the visit was not already blocked. The label is not proof that the visitor is a bot.

When a visit runs the embed, BotShield applies your settings to the signals on that visit. Allow: the visitor continues. Challenge: the visitor confirms they are a shopper. Block: the visitor sees BotShield’s blocked page instead of the store.

Can I adjust how strict protection is?

Yes. Settings offers Low, Medium, and High. Low blocks only a very high score. Medium blocks sooner. High blocks at a lower score. A stricter setting can stop more unwanted traffic and can also stop a real shopper. These are control settings, not measured accuracy rates.

What does Strict Mode do?

Strict Mode turns Auto Block on and sets sensitivity to High. It then blocks at a lower score than High alone. That can catch more suspicious visits, and it can also block a legitimate shopper.

Does turning off Auto Block stop monitoring?

No. Visits that run the embed can still be scored and recorded. Automatic challenges and automatic blocks stop. An address already on your blocklist can still be blocked.

Value uses recorded protection activity and assumptions you enter to estimate potential savings and staff time. The result is an estimate, not a guaranteed financial outcome.

You can save or reset four assumptions: estimated value per blocked event, estimated value per challenge, staff minutes saved per intervention, and hourly staff cost. The estimate combines those numbers with recorded storefront activity. It is not a guaranteed dollar result.

Value can be viewed over 7 days or 30 days. Each range uses storefront activity kept for that window, together with the assumptions you saved.

Why is there no financial estimate yet?

The estimate stays empty until you save assumptions and there is qualifying activity. A projection appears only after at least one intervention across at least seven days. It is not always available.

Incident alerts and the weekly report go to the address saved in Settings, when those options are on. They are separate from the contact form on this website. A weekly report is sent about seven days after the previous one. Delivery is not tied to a fixed hour.
